Chapter 9

Chapter 9
The King of
Ojama Care

He turned out to be a big chump. I blinked and he ran away yelping. What a noob. Oh well. The monsters were really out tonight in this forest. In the sky was an Aurora Wing, a beautiful flowing winged beast. On the ground walking by the pond was a Kujakujaku. Pretty much a peacock. What? You thought I would explain a little better than that? Well I got tired of detailed writing. Maybe next time. Anyways, I took a catnap and when I awoke, I saw some sort of an ape. It looked at me as it was chewing on something. It appeared to be an orange orb of some sort. A hissing noise started to flow from his tongue right before it went to town on that orb. Gobbling it up like a piece of Madolche pie.
“That’s Bazoo the Soul Eater.” Said a familiar voice. It appeared to be Justin. Who had just rose from the ground.
“Did you say The Soul Eater?” I asked.
“Why yes. Yes I did.” Replied Ahkmed Hab’ib, I mean Justin.
“Nope!” I yelled, just like I wanted nothing to do with a Soul Eater. I would have used a different analogy to explain how horrible that was, but there wasn’t one… So, we left the forest.
“So Justin, what brings you out here?”
“Well, I thought I would warn you that Matt was on his way to this location. So, now I must leave. I have a smooch date with a beautiful maiden. Goodbye.”
“Don’t you mean your pillow?” I replied, as he dove into the ground.
When my mind caught up to reality, I tried to get moving, but my body was still loading like AOL in 1997. I panicked as my mind went blank. I knew I needed to think of what to do, but my whole being just couldn’t function. I heard a rustle in the bushes to my left. Something was parting the tree limbs. Whatever it was, it was tall. My greatest fear just walked into my life. He stood with such authority to the world around him. He pointed his sword directly between my eyes“Bang.”  I lifted both legs and swung my head back as hard as I could. I dive bombed onto my back, and landed on a small critter. My heart repeatedly slammed the front of my chest. Actually, it was the rabbit trying to kick me off him. He started laughing so hard his eyes were watering. He bent over, put his hands on his knees, and tried to catch his breath while finishing the uproar. He wiped the water from his eye and got serious. He jabbed the point of his sword at my chest and said,
“Repent… And thou shall be saved.”
Maybe he did this for dramatic effect, but I didn’t know and I really didn’t care at the moment. All that mattered to me right now was that I didn’t get banished.
“I’m just messing with you bro. I never intended to hurt you. It was all just a joke.”
“Well maybe next time you could be a little more subtle.” I replied, and then I picked myself up and slapped the dust off my clothes.
“My name is Matt.” He stuck his hand out to greet me properly.
“Yeah, yeah… I know who you are.” I shook his hand and said, “It’s nice to meet you.”
“Oh really? Did Justina tell you that I was coming?”
“Yep.”
“That noob has been breaking the element of surprise for me for years now.” He turned to the side and started to talk to himself. “Just wait till I get my hands on him.”
“Anyways, what are you doing out her Matt?”
“Well, I’m looking for a purpose for my abilities. You see Levi, I have grown very tired of ruling a society and being known for such a fearsome individual. I would like to be known as a sophisticated gentleman. My hope is that the monsters of Yu-Gi-Oh will look at me as a man that has a heart for others. What is it that you seek?”
“I want to bring justice to the wretched Ojama trio. They destroyed my home and hurt my friends. So I’m gonna serve up a massive beat down.”
“I like you Levi. You have a sort of devotional sense to you. I think I will call you Hanz, and you can call me Franz, yah. And our slogan will be, “We are Hanz and Franz, and we are here to pump you up!” (Sounds familiar, doesn’t it…).
“Well Matt, I would be honored if you would join me on my quest. What do you say?” I lifted my fist towards him.
“Yes. I think I will join you.” We fist bumped and started to tread through the trees.
“Great! This is going to be so much easier.” A weight was lifted off my shoulders. I knew that things would be easier to handle as long as someone was by my side. Out of the sky he comes again. The Messengelato Link.
“Yeah, yeah, I know the drill, hand it over.” I said. He smirked and handed me a letter. I slid the top of the envelope on the edge of my sword to open it. It read,

Levi,
Do not hesitate to call upon me when you are in need. I will send help and wisdom to aid you on your quest.
Excelsior!!!
Merlin the Wizard

That’s great! This is just what I need. You can never have enough support. Anyways, as the Fortune Tune flew away with Link on its back, Matt stopped me.
“Banish him?” As he pointed his sword at Link.
“No! He is a friend.” I replied quickly.
Awwww…” As he put his head down. Man that was a close one.
After walking for a few hours, we came up on a cliff. Peering down over the edge we noticed a small beach beside a rather large lake. The golden sand and bright blue sky made the picture seem like a painting. We found a path and made our way down to the beach. A little ways down there were a set of wooden bleachers around a small arena. The crowd filling the seats was composed of beast-like creatures. They were watching a sectioned off court in the sand. The announcer started up,
“Welcome to “Portal Combat”! Our contestants today are, Nin-Ken Dog. A ninja dog, who has mastered extreme ninjutsu. And in the other corner, Chu-Ske the Mouse Fighter. His goal is to become, the strongest fighter, in the world of mice!”
Nin and Chu started as soon as the announcer said, “Round one. Fight!” So fast and precise. Nin glided through the sand with ease, as Chu stayed on the defensive. Evenly matched they were. With every blow the other seemed to block it back. “Round one over! Draw!” After a minute to gather their thoughts, the announcer began again. “Round two. Fight!” They started out hard again. Finally, Chu made a new stance. Nin dove for a strike at his face.
“That my friend is a counter. Chu has won.” Said Matt.
No sooner than I looked at Matt to ask how he knew, Nin struck Chu in the face. Chu grabbed Nin’s arm and jerked him inwards. Nins head smacked right into Chus other elbow. It was a devastating blow.
“K.O.!!! That’s it folks. Nin is down and out! Our newcomer to the “Portal Combat” Tournament, Chu-Ske is our new CHAMPION!!!”
Well that was interesting.” I said to Matt.
“I agree, but why haven’t they banished the defeated one?” Matt replied. “I could do it for them.” As he pointed his sword at Nin.
“Hang on a sec.” I said, as I slowly pushed the tip of his sword down. “Haha, well you see. Most monsters don’t have the power to do that. So the officials are usually a bit softer on the loser.”
“Oh okay, I understand.”
We made our way west until we passed the lake and came to another cliff. We looked over a Barren wasteland at the bottom. A cloud of dust rolled in the distance.
“Get down Matt.” We hit the floor in hopes that we would evade being noticed.
At the front of the cloud was the trio. They were running towards something standing on the other end of the wasteland. I pulled out a set of glasses that I had brought with me.
"What are those?" asked Matt.
"Marshmallon glasses. They help you see further ahead. They also have a hidden ability, but I don't know what it is.” I adjusted the glasses to focus in on the target.
Holy snapdragons! It’s the Ojama king and two of his knights.
The king was uglier than words could ever explain. He was wearing a set of britches on his head, and had the biggest nose and mouth around. (For all the readers out there, britches are a form of garments know as pants or underwear. Just in case you didn’t know.) He wore a green cape and had skin that was whiter than snow. The trio met up with the king. The cloud of dust settled, and it appeared that they were curtsying to their king. They talked gibberish for a few moments, and then the yellow one turned our way. He started jumping up and down and pointing at us.
“How did they see us?!” I dropped the glasses and turned to Matt. He was standing up and scratching his head.
“What’s going on out there?”
“Matt! You blew our cover! Their coming straight for us!”
“It’s alright Levi. We can handle the lot of them.”
“I’m sorry Matt, but I am not convinced that we could handle them together. The Trio has an insane amount of power. In addition, they have their king and two knights. There are no records of their power. I think it would be best if we got out of here, fast.”
The sky darkened as the clouds started to fill the once blue sky. Lightening flashed all around the Ojamas. It was another lightening vortex. Yep, there came Austin bouncing through the sky once again. He smashed right into one of the knights killing him. The other knight in oddly shining armor stuck his shield into Austin and ignited an explosion. The sky returned to its original state, bright blue. Strangely enough, it started to rain, but there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. Austin changed into a new form and flew through the sky in an arch. A rainbow followed him. He had turned into a Rainbow Kuriboh. That guy keeps amazing me. The Ojamas split off from the king and his faithful knight. They left the body of the first knight to lie in the dirt of the barren wasteland.
"Well, I think we should be on our way. How about you Franz?"
"Why Hanz, I think I agree." So we headed west towards the city. We could see it in the distance, probably a day’s walk from here.
“I just realized something Matt.”
What’s that?”
haven’t eaten in a couple days.”
That settles itWe will camp here and cook dinner. And tomorrow we will head to the city."
