Chapter 5
Heroic Elements
Suddenly, I noticed a cloud of dust barreling across this dry land. It was heading right for me, and there was no way I could hide from it or run. A convoy of machines seemed to be the culprits. They got closer and closer, with each passing second. Finally, they had arrived. They quickly started to circle me. Within a few seconds of their arrival, the black Ojama popped up in front of me. I turned my head to the left, then to the right. I was surrounded by the trio. My heart stopped. Then the black Ojama hit me over the head, knocking me unconscious. After some amount of time, I started to come to my senses. I was in a metal cage on the back of a Road Synchron. I could hear the Synchron talking to the trio. He said,
“Pleasure doing business with you. I didn’t think you would deliver so quickly.”
This means only one thing. The Ojamas had followed me! That feeling! It was them! I should have been more observant! That’s explains why I didn’t get that feeling in the Harpies Hunting Grounds. They would have never set a foot in there. I felt like a fool, and now I was a prisoner. A prisoner who had just been sold, but for who knows what reason.
“Maybe, I can find a way out of this cage.” I said to myself.
I noticed someone else was in here with me, but there was a blanket covering the monster. I reached for the corner of the blanket, and started to lift it up to have a peek. It was some sort of a cat.
He looked up at me, and held one of his front toes up by his mouth, “Shhhhhh,” as he smiled.
Excitement filled my body when I saw what he was wearing on his head. He was a rescue cat! It’s in his name! Rescue!!! I tried to play it cool by saying, “Wassup, Catman,” but all he did was meow.
The Convoy started moving. I wasn’t familiar with a lot of the machines in this brigade, but some of them looked pretty terrifying. After about a half hour, I came to the conclusion that we were heading straight to the south, which was in the direction of the Elemental city. I’ve always wanted to see it, but not like this. As we moved on the dry cracked ground, it started to get dark.
“You should get some rest. We’re getting out of here tomorrow.” Said the Rescue Cat.
I knew at this point, I could sleep well tonight. When I woke up, the cat was gone! Then all of the sudden, Link and his Fortune Tune showed up. He landed on the cage and handed me a letter. One of the machines said,
“Oooohhhh, somebody’s in trouble!” as the others laughed up a storm.
He started to fly away as I opened the letter. It read,
Mr. Flowerknight,
I escaped today, but, I didn’t take you with me, because I didn’t want to wake you. I figured you needed your sleep. Hugs and kisses,
Rescue Cat
What!? That Rescue Cat! What was wrong with him!? I would have wanted to escape way more than what I wanted sleep. Ugh! And what was the deal with Link bringing this to me. How did he find me? And I thought he was the post man for only the rulers of Yu-Gi-Oh. Not a messenger for dumb animals that never help anyone… His name was Rescue Cat! It’s in his name! He’s probably rescuing a mouse, from its “horrible life”, with his mouth. By eating him! I hope he gets captured again. I want to give him a piece of my mind!
As we continued down the road of dust and sagebrush, I continued on my hour-long rant. I could see the city closing in on us. There were floating buildings, arenas and skyscrapers everywhere. This had to be the Elemental city. Did the machines know which city they had brought me to? It is known for being the city of the heroes. This means that nothing bad ever happened, and if it did, they never got away with it. Just as soon as evil was afoot, they would swoop in and save the day.
All of the sudden, one of the heroes flew through the air with such grace and speed. It had to be Avian. He landed on the street in front of the convoy. Then the earth started to shake. It was like something big was heading or way. Step by step the colossal pounding grew louder. It was Clayman! He stopped right in front of Avian. “Boom!” lightning struck the ground in front of us as the thunder roared across the spotless streets. It was the electrifying Sparkman. He had somehow traveled through the lighting, even though there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. Next was a blazing inferno rolling across the ground, and right down the center of the street in front of us. The flames were magnificent. They quickly died as if the oxygen was removed from the air, and there she was. Burstinatrix. My heart skipped a beat at the sight of her. She was simply stunning.
“Is this love?” I said aloud. I had hoped she didn’t hear me. She lit a fire inside my soul that I had never felt before. But it was forbidden. Us plant types weren’t supposed to mingle with any of the fire folk. Thus, it felt to me like the forbidden fruit. So tempting, yet it made me curious. Two rivaling elements, combined in a love affair. Dangerous, or divine? I hoped she was the one to save me. The last to show up was Bubbleman. He was riding a small wave of bubbles just really nonchalantly. Nothing too extreme about this one. As they stood in a cool formation, Sparkman said,
“Halt, evil doers! We are here to stop your reign of terror! Give us the prisoner, and you will not be harmed.”
One of the bigger machines yelled out, “Over our dead chassis!”
“Fine. Have it your way. Bubbleman, why don’t you see how quickly they can rust.”
Bubbleman nodded yes to his leader Sparkman, and blasted the biggest Synchron with a small stream of bubbles. It almost seemed like a joke to me.
“That’s it?” I said.
After a few seconds, the Synchrons started to laugh. At least until the big one rusted almost instantly, and decayed into a small pile of brown dusty metal. The convoy yelled out in despair, as some of them started to run for their “chassis”.
“Haha! Who’s awesome now! Not you guys.” I said to the fleeing Synchrons.
Clayman was lifting up the Cage, which was currently my home. Boy he was strong. He was holding the corner of the solid steel cage with one hand. It was so balanced I didn’t even feel him grab it. Burstinatrix jumped on the side of the cage, and melted the bars, and my heart as well. Just in case you didn’t know. My dream had come true. She was the one who saved me. She took my hand, and helped from the cage. I thanked her. We locked eyes, but only for a moment. We both realized that we were still holding hands, and quickly let go. I felt it. A connection between us. I replayed that brief second in my head a thousand times. Every time I relived that moment I fell harder for her. It was as if we were the only two people in the world. Her eyes were like a flame filled ruby. It reminded me of when I was younger and had sat around a Komushroomo at night, with some of the other Sylvans. I remembered how the flames would dance, just like an orchestra of the Melodious Divas was playing to accompany them. It would make your heart feel warm and astonished all at once. Just like those flames, I could look into her eyes, for days. “Time to go.” Said Sparkman. They all jumped back into formation, and jolted off in different directions. Except Clayman, who slowly strolled away. I gazed upon her as she left. I felt a wonderful feeling of joy, but felt depressed because I knew I loved her. Nevertheless, she was leaving me all alone in this big city.
