Chapter 1
The High Arbiter
I was a Flowerknight, but that title meant nothing when darkness entered the forest. The fabled Ojama trio completely ransacked my village. The peaceful home of the Sylvan people, overflowed with terror and destruction. That day, will never be forgotten.
I peered at Mount Sylvania in the distant north, hoping that it was all a dream. I stood up and took in the sight of my friends and family who were lifeless on the ground. Slayed by the wretched trio. A Komushroomo with its flame doused out by fresh creek water, still steaming like it happened only seconds ago. My heart was breaking. The light that once shone upon the Cherubsprouts was a distant memory. They now lay upon the mossy stones with tears in their eyes, in the shadow of a soulless Guardioak. I could take no more. I left the town and headed towards the citadel on Mount Sylvania. I would plead my case to the guardian Orea and request passage through the Naturia gates. There was no doubt in my mind that I would make the Ojamas pay, but how?
It started to rain. The lightning was so strong and bright that I had to shield my eyes as it flashed in clusters across the sky. The trembling of every surrounding piece of life as the thunder exploded was overwhelming. It felt like every ounce of the forest knew something had happened to its family. Because we the Sylvan people and the forest are as one. We feel the air, the earth shaking, and even the slightest of footsteps on the forest floor. We all could feel the trio on their way to the main village, but there was little we could do to stop them. The Peaskeepers hung from the limbs on the boundaries of our village. Keeping eyes out until they saw the trio. They sounded their bullhorns and yelped at the Gaurdioak,
“Intruders! Intruders!”
“Maybe we can reason with them,” said one pea.
“No! They don’t comprehend friendship or peace, and in our case, that’s not good!” said the third.
As they argued between each other the Ojamas were getting closer, laughing in a deranged lunatic kind of way. Then it all happened in a blur. They moved so fast with no rhyme or reason. I couldn’t do a thing. I ran towards them as fast as I could with my flower blade. As I jumped high into the air to slice down upon the wretched trio, they slipped under me and slid across the ground in different directions. When I landed, they jumped on my back and hit me over the head. I blacked out. When I woke up with a throbbing headache, I pulled myself together to find that the whole village had been wrecked. I couldn’t help thinking about how they snuck around the Gaurdioak. But, the Guardioak are more of the muscle of the woods rather than the brains. All you really have to do is show them something shiny, and you’re in. But enough of that. I quickly realized that our homes were destructed, and now the harmony of the forest had fallen victim to despair. I jumped up in a rage and looked around to find my blade pinning a Cherubsprout’s tail to a tree. The poor little guy had a mud drawn mustache on his upper lip. The blatant chaos and disregard for life was sickening. I carefully removed my sword and made sure the sprout was okay. As I looked around, I saw that the Peaskeepers had withdrawn into their pods and were arguing to each other inside. I remembered that the leader of our village had once told us about the great Orea, The Sylvan High Arbiter. About how she was the guardian of Sylvia, and that if someone worthy came to her for help she would provide. Our princess Chirubime, of the Autumn Leaves, was away to rotate the seasons with the other princesses. Each one has a quarter of the forest that they call home, because of the rules of Sylvia.
The Rules of Sylvia are as followed:
- 1.To retain balance in the forest, all princesses of the seasons must rotate at each quarter of the year.
- 2.Those of the forest cannot leave the forest, or they will be drained of their life energy. Unless permitted to leave.
So, I am off towards Mount Sylvania with a mission in mind and a strand of hope in my heart. I will stop the fabled Ojama trio before they do any more harm to another living being.
